If you have a little one that loves the sport of gymnastics or dance, you would know how important it is to wear the correct apparel like Gymnastic leotards.
In the past, it is common for our first time gymnasts to come into class only wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt; however, they usually find out that this is not the preferred workout attire for this sport and eventually they end up investing in their own Gymnastic leotards.
The primary reason is that loose clothing has a way of getting in the way when they are dancing or performing their beautiful acrobatic skills. There has been a number of occasions that I have seen the loose t-shirt of a young lady fall over her head while she was upside down performing her act, leaving her mid-section up for display and for everyone to see. Naturally, it can be embarrassing and distracting.
The correct clothing is essential and Gymnastic leotards are always stressed as a necessity for all new students. As a result, I am always looking for new leotard manufacturers locally and internationally.
I have stumbled across two such new brands of Gymnastic leotards which happen to be Flip flop Leos and Wear Moi leotards. I have been in the industry for a long time and this has to be the first time I have heard of these two manufacturers in my life. Flip flop leos a small outfit that operates primarily over the Internet. Their store front is only based on eBay, and I for one will tell you that their prices are extremely reasonable. I cannot speak on their quality as I have never actually seen any of the products, but for the low prices that they are offering it may be worth it to buy one and see how it works out. Keep your expectations on a realistic level.
Gk Gymnastic leotards are expensive and will definitely last forever, these cost considerably less and may not always be as durable. The other manufacturer I was taking a look at is Wear Moi Leotards. Right off the bat, I have to tell you that I really like the catch brand name it’s very clever. The Wear Moi brand has really been directed more to the dance crowd and is designed to meet their specific needs as they move around a lot just like gymnast do. While you can use a dance leotard to be doing gymnastics in, I will not recommend it. Although, if your little gymnast has to do ballet classes as well (which is most often the case) one of each may just be what the doctor ordered and for your wallet. I was very interested in several comments I recently came across during reading through some threads at the Chalk Bucket (which is a gymnastics discussion board). As I have stated before, Motion wear has your standard assortment of blue leotards which are as common as rock, red leotards, green and purple leotards and the rest of the spectrum you can imagine as well. They also have very nice color combinations and designs like flame leotards and gymnastic leotards with different designs. What I did find interesting while reading through the discussion on their entire selection of Gymnastic leotards is that apparently the polka dot leotards and the foil leotards are very difficult to care for, so keep that in mind if you are in the market for one of those. The other item of interest is that their sizing runs a little different. My understanding is that the Motionwear Leotards will typically fit a little loose in some parts(depending on the shape of the gymnast). By and large, most of the readers liked the tight fit of GK leotards better because they can move around easier, but still felt that the Motiowear leotards were a good buy. By and large, most folks were also very pleased with the durability of the products.
